Dry contact means no voltage is provide by ekey system on the relay. Form C contacts are also called
changeover contacts that have three contacts as follows:
1. (C) Common = common leg of the circuit
2. (NO) Normal Open = default relay is open meaning the circuit is open not complete; relay will close to
complete the circuit when a valid fingerprint match is found. For example, this option is used when
controlling door with electrical strike in Fail-Secure mode. In this scenario the door is closed when the lock
has no power. When a valid fingerprint match is found, the relay is closed causing the lock to energized
leading to the door to set open.
3. (NC) Normal Close = default relay is closed meaning the circuit is closed and complete; relay will open to
break the circuit when a valid fingerprint match is found. For example, this option is used when controlling
door with Magnetic Lock or electrical strike in Fail-Safe mode. In this scenario the lock requires power to
magnetize and hold the door close. When a valid fingerprint match is found, the relay is opened causing the
lock to lose its power and demagnetized leading the door to set open.
