integra enhanced fingerprint scanner is equipped with Radio Frequency (RF) Scanner manufactured by

AuthenTec.

Human finger skin consists of multiple lay er s. First layer is the Outer Dead and dry Skin Layer directly below the

electrical conductivity

properties. Second layer is the

Live Skin Cell Layer that has

good electrical conductivity

properties.

AuthenTec’s semiconductor-

based sensors are based on

radio frequency (RF) technology

that detects an image of the

fingerprint ridge and valley

pattern beneath the surface of

the skin. This lower, live layer

has a better electrical

conductivity than the dead skin layer. It is this principle on which the RF sensor works.

The RF sensor is based on the physical principle of electric wave transmission from transmitting

antennas (ridges, valley) to a receiving antenna (sensor). The signal is then evaluated on the latter.

The distance between transmitting antennas and receiving antenna is used to generate a

fingerprint image.
